Black Friday – Extraordinaire

We’ve all seen it. That certain glow. The glow in our eyes, the glow of the storefront and finally the after-glow from a day of shopping and saving. Some would agree it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

Black Friday shopping is a family tradition at our house and I am happy to share the following tips to help you get through the day:

  • Stay hydrated, and grab grub whenever possible, cranky shopping is not fun.
  • Don’t be fooled by pretty signs, look for the word “Additional” (i.e. Additional 20% Off).
  • Look for long lines at the checkout, there may be deals to be had.
  • Don’t waste time, it’s over before you know it so ask others what’s hot in the store when you walk in.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. This is not the day to be wearing your new designer heels for retail therapy.
  • Keep your receipts! Impulse buys are common, at least with a receipt you can take it back and get a refund.
  • Be classy! Don’t knock down other women or shoppers, that is just a shopping faux-pas!

Clearly your open minded and receptive to other ideas. Many people in the online community are a little more totalitarian. keep it up ;D Of course– and I probably shouldn’t even have to say this– people are free to run their own websites as they see fit. But I get the highest value from blogs where either the author’s writing is so outstanding that the lack of comments isn’t material a combination of good writing and good comments.
